Set Sail with White River Canoe Company

Time to Set Sail

A peaceful float trip down our beautiful, meandering White River is the ultimate in relaxation, and no visit to Hamilton County is complete without it. So, when you're ready to take the plunge, the experts at White River Canoe Company in Noblesville will help with everything you need!

On any given spring, summer or fall day, the White River becomes vibrantly alive with dozens of canoers, kayakers and tubers who have packed in for a back-to-nature sojourn down the river.

And as my husband and I discovered several years ago during our first kayaking adventure in the area, the White River is incredibly clear. As we paddled along (to be honest, I tend to let the gentle current do most of the work), I was captivated by the clean shoreline and colorful riverbed.

Up a Creek (With a Paddle!)

The White River Canoe Company offers many different options. You can choose to kayak, canoe, or tube leisurely down the river, spending anywhere from 1.5 to 8 hours, floating your cares away.

The most sought-after package is the 4-5-hour Potter's Bridge River Tubing Trip. Once registered, you'll be shuttled from the Canoe Company's livery in Noblesville to historic Potter's Bridge just a few miles away, where you'll be given everything you need to enjoy a breathtaking float down the river. (We rented a cooler tube so we could enjoy our favorite snacks and beverages along the way!)

Nature Calls

Birds, bees and tulip trees: The White River is home to Great Blue Herons, colorful wood ducks, Red-tailed and Cooper's Hawks, and even the elusive Bald Eagle. Prepare to be serenaded along the way by the many songbirds that call the shores of the White River home. You may also spot beavers and river otters playing along the banks.

Whether it's just you and your favorite person or a large group of family and friends, it's definitely worth checking out. Remember to bring your water shoes!
