Introducing Pilates at Prairie Guest House: A Group Class Wellness Experience in Fishers Indiana

Introducing Pilates at Prairie Guest House: A New Wellness Experience in Fishers, Indiana

When people think about a weekend getaway at Prairie Guest House, they picture slow mornings with coffee on the porch, cozy gathering spaces, bridal prep with best friends, and meaningful time spent together away from the rush of everyday life.

But over the last year, something else caught my attention.

As the social media manager for Prairie Guest House, I’ve spent mornings photographing bridal showers, baby showers, girls’ getaways, wedding weekends, and family celebrations inside our beautiful studio space. I watched excited groups of women arrive in matching pajamas with curling irons plugged in, coffee cups in hand, and music playing while everyone got ready for a big event.

Each time, I found myself imagining something to add to those mornings—channeling that same celebratory energy into a group fitness experience.

I’m Victoria Swider—Prairie Guest House’s social media manager turned Pilates instructor. After more than 10 years of loving movement in all forms—from ballroom dance and Zumba to strength training and Pilates—I decided to take the leap into teaching.

That journey led me to become certified in UPBeat Pilates, a music-driven mat Pilates format that takes classic Pilates movements and times them to upbeat playlists, energizing flows, and motivating group energy. It’s designed to feel approachable, uplifting, and fun whether you’re brand new to Pilates or already love fitness classes.

And honestly, Prairie Guest House felt like the perfect place to bring it to life.

Yoga Studio ExteriorBack to Our Roots—with a New Twist

If you've ever visited Prairie Guest House, you may have noticed the sign outside that reads "Sage Yoga Studio." You might also spot the plaque on the building itself identifying the space as a yoga studio.

Those signs are a nod to an earlier chapter in Prairie Guest House's story.

Years ago, owner Karen taught yoga classes for the local community in this very space. As the years passed and life evolved, so did the studio. The building was renovated and began serving new purposes—hosting bridal party prep, baby and bridal showers, wedding gatherings, retreats, and celebrations of all kinds.

Yet the spirit of the space never really changed. It has always been a place where people come to connect, celebrate, and care for themselves and one another.

That's part of what made the idea of Pilates feel so right.

In many ways, Pilates at Prairie Guest House is a return to the studio's roots—with a fresh direction. While the movement may look a little different than it did during the Sage Yoga Studio days, the goal remains the same: creating a welcoming space where people can move their bodies, build connection, and start meaningful days together.
